The Producing Team for No Sweat

Producer/Director/Camera Amie Williams

Amie has been a labor activist/independent filmmaker for the past fifteen years. Past documentary films have garnered international screenings and awards, from the Motion Picture Academy, American Film Institute and the International Documentary Association, among others. Past works include: Uncommon Ground: From Los Angeles to South Africa (1994) about youth and apartheid; Stripped and Teased: Tales from Las Vegas Women,(2001) ; broadcast on PBS and theatrically distributed; One Day Longer: The Story of the Frontier Strike , (2003); commissioned by HEREIU, and Eye of the Storm, The Story of the Lockout for the International Longshoreman and Warehouse Union, ILWU (2005). Recently, Amie was awarded an ITVS/Lincs grant for the film Fallon , NV , about a childhood leukemia cluster in a rural Nevada town and Naval Air Base, which was broadcast on PBS in 2004. Amie has field produced numerous segments for such clients as BBC, Discovery Channel, Sweden Channel-1, Pro-Sieben, (Germany), Canal-Plus (France), the Learning Channel, and HBO/Cinemax. Amie also co-founded the CineVegas International Film Festival in 1998, bringing world cinema for the first time to the Las Vegas Strip. She served as Artistic Director for three years before Trevor Groth of Sundance took over. She is a graduate of Yale University (B.A. 1985) and the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television (M.F.A., 1991). Amie is also a proud member of I.A.T.S.E. local 720 as a camera operator.

Producer, Tony Silver

Tony Silver's Style Wars (70mins.1984/2003) is recognized by educators, critics and a worldwide audience as the most important film to capture the original spirit and vitality of graffiti and hip-hop, emerging from New York's subways, streets and playgrounds into world consciousness. It won the Grand Prize at the Sundance Film Festival on its original release and was a PBS special. With the 2003 release of its 2-disc DVD, it is more acclaimed than ever. Silver's 2003 companion film Style Wars :ReVisited(34 mins.) updates the lives of 26 of the of the original film's participants, together with other legendary figures of the time. Silver's latest feature documentary, Arisman Facing the Audience (83 mins., 2002), tracks the artistic and spiritual odyssey of world-renowned illustrator and teacher Marshall Arisman. It won the prize for Creative and Artistic Achievement at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival. Silver's award-winning work in theatrical and tv trailers, main titles and special effects includes Wings of the Dove, The People Vs. Larry Flynt, A Map of the World, Platoon, Alien, The Shadow, Tribeca, Resurrection, and many others. He has directed commercials for IBM, American Airlines, General Motors and the Bronx Zoo.

Associate Producer/Editor Libby Horne

Libby Horne's credits include EVERYONE THEIR GRAIN OF SAND, a feature-length documentary about a poor but tenacious community in Tijuana, Mexico, struggling with the state government over land rights, water, and school funding; LIVING IN COLOR, a 45-minute profile of South Asian Angelenos; ANTONIO'S RUN, an hour-long documentary look at the failed 2001 campaign of Los Angeles mayoral hopeful (and now mayor-elect) Antonio Villaraigosa; and short advocacy pieces produced for labor unions and non-profit organizations. Horne has also worked as a reporter for PBS' award-winning "MacNeil/Lehrer NewsHour," a series producer for Discovery Channel's popular "Travelers" show and as an independent producer-director for numerous educational and promotional videos. She was series producer for Discovery Channel's popular Travelers show, and, as an independent producer/director in Washington , DC , produced numerous educational and promotional videos for government, non-profit and corporate clients. Libby is a graduate of Williams College (B.A., 1987). She has also taught English As A Second Language in Japan , and done overseas studies course in Spain . She currently serves on the International Documentary Association's Awards Committee.

Associate Producer/ Sound Recordist Maria Elena Chavez

Her work as a writer, director and visual media artist has been greatly influenced by having been born and raised within the farmworker movement. She is the daughter of Richard Chavez, brother of the late Cesar E. Chavez, and Dolores Huerta, co-founder of the United Farm Workers, AFL-CIO. She is committed to using film to improve the representation of women, youth and people of color. She has since worked with Emmy nominated independent film and television producer Robert Greenwald responsible for such films as the classic Burning Bed ( 1984) (TV ) , Livin' for Love: The Natalie Cole Story (2000) (TV) and feature documentaries Unprecedented: The 2002 Presidential Election (2003) and Uncovered: the Whole Truth about the Iraq War (2003). She has also worked with The Imagen Foundation, a highly regarded non-profit organization dedicated to recognizing and encouraging the television, film and advertising industries to portray Latino actors and production storylines in a positive and accurate manner. In addition to working on the prestigious 18 th Annual Imagen Awards she worked on their annual Career Conference and Job Fair in an effort to provide access to industry jobs to underrepresented groups. Her personal projects and collaborations include a documentary on Dolores Huerta and another on various indigenous communities throughout Mexico . Her work in various forms of media and communications continue to serve as a foundation for both her personal and collaborative projects. When possible she volunteers her services in various capacities staying active in numerous struggles for social justice.
